My favorite Marilyn Manson lyric was "it's a long hard road out of hell" it encouraged me though, bc there is a road out.

Disclaimer: I cannot read Chinese and have not verified what this person is saying. But in my philosophical views, the messages are the most important things, not the literalism of any texts. So this isn't meant to try to change or disparage anyone's views, it's just to entertain a different perspective.

The views expressed here resonate with me because I no longer expect or chase a balance. I try to accept what is. A good analogy is the extreme weather we have in Texas and my experiences working outside for many years. I had to learn to love the scorching summer heat, as well as the frigid and windy winter weather. Otherwise, I'd just be miserable all of the time! Now there were times when I was still miserable (lol) and that is unavoidable, but once I learned this, it was much fewer and farther in-between.

Below are some of the statements from this video that really hit home for me.

Nature is never in balance. Nature is in motion.

Yin-Yang doesn't describe an equilibrium that you maintain. It describes a turning that you cannot stop.

The old texts never promised you equilibrium. They promised something better: That no season is final.

July was a good one. The ice bath weekend was the standout — cold water, warm people, a lot of laughing and a lot of realizing what you're actually capable of. Beyond that it was Sunday services every week, ceremonies, sound journeys, and the kind of month where it felt like the community was really humming. We also kicked off the final donation run for the Maloka. If you haven't seen it yet, that's here: https://community.twobirdschurch.com/calendar/maloka-donor-project/ — we're close, and every bit helps.

Welcome to everyone who joined us in July — Linda Arsenio Adeel Sheikh Kate Jonathan Beckham Syjae Quiros Shea Alexandra Matthew N Le Donne Chris Cioffi Marissa Way Lisbeth Bennett Takis Nahatis Ryan Tiefen Amethyst Kelly Jeff Strobel Alex Cruz Graham Scott Michelle T Alvarez Jaer Quijivix-Sweeney Jennifer Caldwell Qazi Ahmad Gary Bennefield Zindaida Krivoruk Bryana Cyrus Flora House k shah Raul Enciso Sakshyam Dahal Michelle Rad Mark Humann Stephanie Cole Leah sommerville — 31 of you this month!!! Glad you're here. 🙏

And thank you to everyone who keeps showing up week after week. It's the reason any of this works.

August is full. We've got two ceremonies — a two-night early in the month and a one-night later on for those who've already sat with us. Waitlists are open on both, so get your name down if you want in. First-timers, we'll always start you with the full weekend. Beyond that: Sunday services every week, Sapo/Kambo to open the month, a Cacao, Hapé & Sound Journey, a potluck to close things out, and Book Club on Zoom — heads up, we've moved that to Thursday evenings, 6:30.

Looking ahead, we've got ceremony dates open in September and we're already getting October lined up. If you're planning around it, now's a good time to reach out.

Calendar's attached with all the dates. Everything else — Zoom links, deposits, details — lives here: https://community.twobirdschurch.com/calendar/

Gnomes is pretty good. My favorite thing about being a gnome is sitting under a tree. Gnomes know how to eat good, go on nice nature walks and craft wonderful things. Gnomes are magic and funny. If you too are a gnome comment I am gnome.

Join us today from 3–6 here in Anna for Sunday service! 💛

Today's a little different — we're offering an optional ice bath as part of service. If you'd like to participate, bring a bathing suit and towel. You're also welcome to just come cheer others on and share in service.

Our monthly potluck follows right after, so bring a snack to share or just come enjoy what's there! 🍲

Sunday Service, Potluck & Ice Bath!

https://community.twobirdschurch.com/calendar/one-night-sacred-ceremony/?selected_date=2026-08-22

These one nights are a great way to reconnect with the medicine and your integration check it out, these are only for previous participants who have sat with us before. If you are new please check out our 2 night options to start.

New one night for all our previous partipants!

Started with a patch of our land in Anna. Today it's a full building — framed, roofed, wired, guttered, plumbed, standing. Everything below ground is done: septic, water, electric. Everything you can't see, the hard invisible work, finished.

And all of it so far — has come from within this community. No grants, no outside money. Us.

Once a year, we ask for help. This is that time.

Being in the home stretch, what's left are the framing-out tasks that get us to usable: insulation, ceiling, heat and air, working bathrooms. So we're setting our final goal — $80K, the last third of the whole build — and we've laid it out in phases. That way you can see exactly where we are along the way, and there's a clear way to help at every step.

Our next aim is step one: the insulation. bid in hand, and everything downstream waits on it. That's the number we're chasing first.

Come see where it stands and be part of finishing it:

Whatever you can give, and whatever you can't — thank you for being part of what we're building here. 🙏
