Came across this passage called “Uji” meaning “being-time” or “for the time being” from Shōbōgenzō (Treasury of the True Dharma Eye) written by Dōgen in the year 1240. A simple analysis would be that “Buddha Nature is the inseparability of time and existence in the everchanging present.” It reminded me a lot of the realization or feeling of understanding I gained in my most recent ceremony - a feeling of connection and identification to and with all aspects and points of view, simultaneously. I thought maybe it would resonate with others here.
I used AI to create me a strategic calendar to prepare for my ceremony. I told it to give me 3 activities per day one physical one mental and one spiritual. I printed it out and folded it to force myself to not read ahead. To be surprised and enthusiastic about each day of this pre purge phase. Today is day 5.
Honoring the Many Faces of the Mother 🌸
Today, we give thanks to the mothers who raised us, held us, and shaped us — and we also hold space for the full spectrum of emotions that Mother's Day can bring.
For some, this day brings warmth, gratitude, and sweet memories. For others, it may stir grief, longing, or the ache of difficult relationships. At Two Birds Church, we recognize that “Mother” is more than one person — she lives in many forms. 💫
She may be a birth mother, a grandmother, an auntie, a teacher, a neighbor, or even a dear friend. And she is also found in the arms of Mother Earth, in the nurturing voice within us, and in the loving presence that shows up when we need it most.
To all who mother — in form or in spirit — we offer our deep gratitude.
And to those who are tender today, we offer our love and presence.
You are not alone in the feeling — feeling is healing. ❤️
