What are somethings you do in preparation in the month leading to a ceremony?

Shaun Fontane

Daily journaling , diet being on point (I choose vegan) , being out in nature more frequently, having my intentions set up before ceremony, and meditating more frequently!

Shaun gave excellent advice! I like to take off work the week before ceremony when possible to journal, meditate and drink dandelion and nettle tea to clean out my kidneys. Stick to the dieta, try to notice synchronicities and natural cycles. If you have a full month it can be really pleasant to spend some time outside each night with a cup of tea finding the location and phase of the moon.

Blessings to you and have fun! 🙏

Church :-) I know you're not in TX, but finding a community in your area where you can explore ways to connect with yourself and your emotions is huge. Journaling has already been mentioned, but even things like therapy pair great with these experiences both before and after. Creative expression is also key for me—sometimes the things I'm uncovering prior to ceremony don't have a clear narrative or words yet, so exploring them through art, movement, or other creative outlets helps me understand them better. We call this the "pre-purge" phase—just gently becoming aware of what's surfacing. Even simple things like sitting still with meditation, slowing down, truly listening to your feelings, or taking slow walks in nature can help. Our world moves pretty fast, so giving yourself space and time to really feel makes a huge difference. 🌿✨

I slowly integrate the diet week by week. Eating properly is critical but will take time, especially cutting salt and sugar. Ceremonies as you know can be tough and unpredictable but what I can control is what I put into my body going in. Generally the healthier I eat the less physical discomfort I'll feel in ceremony.
