Hello tribe, September unfurls its wings at Two Birds, and with it comes the promise of balance and introspection. ๐ We are stepping into a transformative phase, one that is marked by nature's own rhythm and the celestial wisdom of the equinox. Just as the preceding month was guided by the luminescence of supermoons ๐, September beckons us to align with the Earth's poised dance between light and dark.
First of the month means new ceremonies!. We're thrilled to see the enthusiasm from our members, and if you find yourself on the waitlist, don't worry as last-minute spots often open up, so be sure to join the waitlist for any ceremonies you are interested in. This month, our calendar is brimming with activities that pay homage to the equinox's energy. Along with our Virtual Services, Sapo/Kambo Circles, and weekly Sunday Services (including the much-loved "Little Birds" Kids Service), we've created an Fall (Autumn) equinox-special potluck! We try to do these every season, if you haven't made it out for one, yet these potlucks are a great time and way to connect with the community. We will also be facilitating a or gratitude ceremony, a traditional Andean practice that allows us to express profound appreciation for the gifts, lessons, and growth experienced throughout the year. The ceremony involves the creation of a beautiful and symbolic offering filled with natural elements like flowers, each representing a specific intention or prayer. As we navigate this transitional time, this ceremony underscores the beauty of letting go, the promise of rebirth, and the perpetual cycle of growth and renewal integral to our existence.
At the heart of this month is the Autumn Equinox, occurring around the 22nd, a day when day and night stand equal, embodying the essence of balance. This period is not just a shift in the calendar, but a spiritual bridge between the extroverted energies of summer and the introspective callings of fall and winter. As nature gracefully embraces this equilibrium, so too are we invited to recalibrate, reflect, and renew our spirits.
Energetically, this is our cue to turn inward. While summer had its fill of play, connection, and sunlight, fall whispers tales of rest, solitude, and deeper connections. As we honor the roots of the Autumn Equinox, it's time to give thanks, much like the harvest festivals of old, and welcome the season of abundance and gratitude. Whether itโs gardening, attending harvest festivals, or simply savoring a cup of cacao on a cool evening, the equinox invites us to celebrate and connect. While nature prepares for rest, our minds are ablaze, hungry for knowledge and growth. This month, let's lean into that, channeling the wisdom of our ancestors, who during these months, would gather around fires and soak in stories and lessons from the Elders.
With the Autumn Equinox at our doorstep, let us embrace the balance it offers. As the world pauses for a brief moment, let's find our harmony, set our intentions, and glide into the embrace of a season that promises both rest and rejuvenation.
Wishing you a September filled with gratitude, balance, and profound introspection,
A'ho ๐ Two Birds ๐๏ธ๐ฆ
