For those of you have attended a sacred ceremony, what were some unconventional methods you used to set intentions open your heart to healing from past traumas? @everyone

James Elrod

One thing that really helps me before a ceremony is setting aside whole days just to reflect. 🌱 I take this time to tune into myself, maybe by writing down my thoughts and feelings, or just sitting quietly outside. Talking things through with a close friend or a counselor can also be incredibly helpful. Just having a heart-to-heart helps me get to that place of honesty and openness. 💖 It's all about getting real with myself. Part of this preparation also involves the Dieta —not just what I eat, but also what I consume mentally, like limiting media and internet time. This can be seen as a 'pre-purge,' bringing up discomfort that’s helpful to bring awareness too. As these uncomfortable feelings surface, I try to pay close attention. They are often signs of my deeper self trying to communicate, guiding me toward what needs attention during the ceremony. By listening closely and observing my moods and what’s coming up, I can better understand and refine my intentions for the ceremony.

Hi @addisonbadesha I totally agree with what Jay say. It’s all about truly connecting with yourself. In my case, two weeks before my last ceremony I hosted daily cacao and Hapé ceremonies for myself, asking mama Cacao to open my heart and setting intentions to the Hapé to show me what I really needed to heal.

I asked my Guides to put in my mind and heart what I needed to ask Mother Aya.

One week before my ceremony, while being at church and during a sharing, I got a huge insight about what was my main issue at the moment, so that was my main intention for my ceremony.

Another thing I suggest is to write a letter to Mother Aya with no filters, asking exactly what you think you need. Read it a few times and correct it until everything is written really resonates with you.

Anyway, my friend, the key is to surrender! Remember Mother Aya will give you exactly what you need. Trust the process, and most important: trust yourself.
