I’m struggling with dieta. I started early to see how it would work for me. The last two years, I’ve been on a modified elimination diet for health reasons. Sounds crazy, but having red meat as my primary food source cleared up a ton of issues from depression to being overweight.
I’ve been eating rice and lentils, some other beans, a lot of green veggies; but I’m already feeling auto-immune signs start to pop up.
Any advice? I know it sounds crazy that I live off red meat, but it saved me when I started it almost a year ago.
If you check out the Diet we post in the chat group, it's a lot more doable than maybe what you're finding online. It only has you cutting out the meat entirely 2 days before your ceremony, so you're about two months ahead of schedule :-) if going two days meat free is not doable for you that's OK as well it won't kill you by any means you might just spend more of the night being cleaned out and using the bathroom all night than those on a cleaner diet. It also depends highly on your intention, what you're seeking from the ceremony etc. Within most Ayahuasca traditions, physical, mental problems stem from a spiritual issue. Part of the diets purpose is to allow things to surface, so they can be addressed more fully in ceremony. For example, someone who has trouble quitting marijuana during diet because without it, they get very anxious and have anxiety attacks. So during the diet period they abstain from marijuana and become a raw bundle of nerves leading up to the ceremony, but instead of coming to the ceremony with that anxiety buried deep under a blanket of marijuana it's right on the surface and ready to be explored. But 100% be safe and listen to your body. It is possible a couple of days on the diet might bring up old emotions, traumas etc. and they could be explored in ceremony in a deeper way vs doing no diet. Maybe the food is masking something, and you spend multiple nights just being cleared out before any deeper insights are explored, but ultimately do what you're called to. As long as you're not consuming drugs/alcohol or medications you will be all right and if there are lessons in something it will present its self for next time. You're building a relationship in ceremony, nothing is ever done overnight so take it all as a learning experince either way, do what you can, the more you put into your ceremony the more you will get from it.
My intention has been to go into all of this as whole heartedly as possible. I wanted to start well ahead of time and give it everything. I suppose I got lost in my fervor. Thanks for the response.
