Today isn't simple for everyone. Some of us are celebrating. Some of us are grieving. Some of us have complicated feelings about what "mother" even means. All of that belongs here.
What we want to honor today is the thing underneath the holiday — the act of holding. Being held. Being nurtured. Being loved in a way that doesn't ask you to earn it.
That can come from a mother. It can also come from the earth, from a friend, from a community, from yourself. Pacha Mama holds all of us — no conditions, no exceptions.
To the mothers, the grandmothers, the women who held us together, the earth that holds us still — thank you.
And to anyone for whom today is heavy — you belong here too. 🌿

April was full in the best way. Two ceremonies held with deep care, two beautiful groups moving through them, and our Sunday services were something special this month. Big thanks to Hamid (Hamid Latifi) for sharing his talk "Medical and Legal Perspectives on the Past, Present, and Future of Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy" with us on a Sunday — a real gift to the community.
Each Sunday this month carried its own prompt for our authentic sharing:
🌅 Dawn — where light is returning in your life, where you're still in the dark. Our Ostara/Easter anchor.
🥁 Rhythm — where your rhythm is working, where you're out of rhythm. Paired with group drumming meditation.
🌱 Nourish — what's feeding you, what's draining you. Our Earth Day anchor.
📖 Lesson — what life is teaching you, what lesson you're resisting.
Between the prompts, the meditations, breathwork, music, and Hamid's talk — Sundays held a lot this month. The flowers are popping here at Two Birds, the land is waking up, and we felt it in every gathering.
