At Two Birds Church, our philosophy centers on a simple truth: healing happens when we take full responsibility for our inner world and meet it with courage.
Ayahuasca and Personal Responsibility Ayahuasca is our sacred sacrament and teacher, but she doesn’t heal us or change us directly. Instead, she serves as a compassionate mirror, reflecting back what we need to see, face, or release. The real transformation happens through our willingness to do the inner work she reveals.
We believe healing comes from taking ownership of our experience rather than attributing it to external forces. What we encounter in ceremony—whether challenging visions, overwhelming emotions, or profound insights—are reflections of our inner world rising to be seen and integrated.
We call our ceremonies “ordeal medicine” because real growth often requires us to sit with discomfort rather than escape it. In darkness and without distraction, we learn to meet fear directly and discover freedom on the other side. This isn’t about suffering for its own sake—it’s about developing the capacity to be with whatever arises.
Our approach honors both the psychological and spiritual dimensions of this work. We draw from modern psychology, ancient wisdom, and direct experience to understand how healing unfolds. While the mystery of consciousness remains vast, we focus on what we can influence: our willingness to face ourselves honestly and respond with courage.
The Divine Within The sacred isn’t somewhere else—it’s the divine spark that exists within each person. What some call God, Spirit, Source, or the Higher Self lives within us, waiting to be remembered and experienced directly.
Through the honest work of facing our shadows and releasing what no longer serves us, we rediscover the wholeness and love that were never actually lost. This isn’t just psychological healing—it’s spiritual awakening. In ceremony, participants often experience profound connection with the divine, encountering love, unity, and sacred presence as direct lived reality.
This is Ayahuasca’s gift: not creating something new, but revealing the truth that was always there. The real transformation happens when we recognize that everything we’ve been seeking outside ourselves—love, peace, wholeness, connection with the divine—has been within us all along.
Authentic Community We don’t proselytize or recruit. For over 15 years, our community has grown organically through genuine resonance with this path. We honor the freedom of all people to think, believe, and practice as they choose. What we offer is a specific approach for those called to this particular way of inner work.
We value authenticity over appearance. There are no special clothes, rigid rituals, or performative spirituality here. Whether in ceremony or Sunday service, members arrive as themselves—real, unmasked, and present. What matters isn’t outward form but the willingness to show up honestly for the work.
