At Two Birds Church, our Moral & Ethical Tenets define how we translate our spiritual beliefs into our interactions with others. These tenets guide us in creating a community rooted in respect, safety, and trust, providing a foundation for harmonious relationships both within our Church and in the wider world. By committing to these principles, members uphold the shared values that foster mutual care, accountability, and integrity in our sacred spaces.
Moral Respect
We honor the dignity and worth of every individual. Our community is a safe and inclusive space free from violence, discrimination, sexual misconduct, theft, and gossip. By treating each other with compassion and kindness, we create an environment where everyone feels valued and respected. This includes respecting personal boundaries and privacy, asking for consent before physical contact, taking photos, or sharing someone’s story, and addressing conflicts openly and respectfully to build trust and understanding.
Sobriety and Authentic Presence
We value the importance of showing up authentically and fully present in sacred spaces. Sobriety is a key part of this commitment, allowing us to engage deeply with the teachings of Ayahuasca and connect meaningfully with ourselves and the community.
To maintain the integrity of all church events—including ceremonies, Sunday services, potlucks, and community gatherings—we ask members to arrive free from the influence of substances. By prioritizing authenticity and presence, we cultivate an environment that supports healing, self-awareness, and mutual respect.
Equality
We celebrate diversity and are committed to fostering an environment where all individuals are treated with respect and dignity. Discrimination of any kind—whether based on race, gender, sexual orientation, age, or any other characteristic—has no place in our community. We welcome and celebrate differences as part of our collective strength, ensuring that everyone has equal opportunities to participate, contribute, and thrive.
Connections
At Two Birds Church, we value relationships rooted in mutual respect, care, and discernment. While meaningful connections, including friendships and romantic relationships, may naturally form within our community, we encourage all members to approach relationships with mindfulness and respect for boundaries.
Sacred ceremonies are reserved for spiritual connection and healing, and we ask members to refrain from initiating romantic or personal connections during these times. By fostering an atmosphere of integrity, respect, and care, we support the well-being of the entire community.
Communication
Open and honest communication is the foundation of our community. Addressing concerns directly and respectfully fosters trust and understanding. Gossip, rumors, or creating discord undermine our shared values.
We encourage members to speak directly to those involved when issues arise, maintain transparency when resolving conflicts, and actively contribute to harmony and trust within the community.
