Welcome to your Sapo/Kambo Circle

Congratulations on joining a Sapo/Kambo Circle here at Two Birds Church. Today, we embark on a journey to explore two remarkable gifts from the rainforest: Sapo and Kambo. While they share similarities, each has its unique story, methods, and cultural significance. By completing this course, you are taking an important step in preparing yourself for the transformative experiences that await you at Two Birds Church.

Embracing Both Sapo and Kambo

Later in the course, we will explore the differences between Sapo, derived from the Matsés Tribe of Peru, and Kambo, used by several indigenous groups in Brazil. At Two Birds Church, we embrace the truths and teachings of all cultures. There are strengths to both cultural applications, so we take the best from both worlds to create the best and safest experience possible. For the ease of this course, we will refer to it as Sapo, but we work with a blend of both cultures in our circles and will explore what that looks like for your upcoming ceremony.

At Two Birds Church, we work with Sapo as a way to prepare ourselves for experiences like our Sacred Ceremony with our sacrament Ayahuasca. Sapo helps align the body and mind to better receive the sacrament. It also works as a cleanse to better prepare ourselves for sacred ceremonies here at the Church. While Ayahuasca is our sacrament and a teacher, Sapo serves as a great precursor to our Ayahuasca ceremonies. Additionally, Sapo is a great tool for pre-ceremony and post-ceremony integration if you have attended a sacred ceremony with us. It can be a wonderful way to realign yourself with the lessons of your Ayahuasca ceremony at any time. Sapo also strengthens the body, which is an integral part of the body, mind, and spirit connection essential for effective integration.

Like Ayahuasca, Sapo is considered an “Ordeal” ceremony, involving significant discomfort and requiring deep surrender. Sapo is a valuable teacher in navigating discomfort, making it an excellent introduction to Ordeal ceremonies. The entire experience lasts only 15 minutes, making it manageable yet still intensely challenging. It demands strength, surrender, and a willingness to be vulnerable, as there is no resisting Sapo’s effects.
