The Board
Two Birds Church is guided by a dedicated board consisting of a President, Secretary, and Treasurer. The board’s primary role is to ensure our church remains “On Mission,” providing strategic oversight without interfering in daily operations.
To serve on our board, you must be at least 18, have been an active member for a year, and share our passion for the church’s mission. We value volunteer spirit, teamwork, and strong communication skills. Board members focus on big-picture guidance, leaving day-to-day management to our Church Ayahuascero
Board positions are unpaid with a minimum one-year commitment. Experience in leadership, finance, or church operations is beneficial, as is a commitment to ongoing learning and maintaining our strategic vision.
When positions open, we advertise within our community. The selection process includes application review, background checks, and training on the distinction between governance and operations. Board members can resign with 30 days’ notice, and we expect confidentiality even after departure. Serving on our board is a meaningful way to contribute to our spiritual community’s long-term direction.
Board President – James Elrod
As the guiding light of Two Birds Church’s board activities, James Elrod serves as our Board President. In this role, he ensures that the board functions harmoniously and efficiently, always staying true to our mission and values.
James’s responsibilities include setting the tone for board operations and guiding members in their roles. He regularly reviews and refines our strategic goals, ensuring they evolve with the church’s needs. A key part of his role is overseeing policies related to Ayahuasca ceremonies, emphasizing safety, spiritual reverence, and legal compliance.
In addition to his internal leadership, James engages with the broader community to enhance our church’s reputation and membership and encourages a culture of inclusiveness and mutual respect. James also represents the church in official capacities, acting as the face of the board when liaising with media, government bodies, and other religious organizations.

As the chief note-taker and information organizer for the board, Christina supports the Board, ensuring accurate documentation, streamlined communication, and efficient storage of records.
Christina’s core responsibilities include meticulously recording minutes of all board meetings, capturing all discussions, decisions, and actions. She organizes and stores all pertinent documents for easy access, maintaining and updating membership lists and other essential records. Christina also manages all board-related correspondence, ensuring timely and appropriate responses.

He oversees the budget derived from monthly Ayahuasca ceremonies, ensuring these funds are allocated towards growth, payroll, and the church’s goal of building a new space.
Collaborating with committee leaders, Clayton drafts annual budgets for their respective committees, ensuring alignment with the projected subscriber base income. He develops fundraising initiatives that complement existing revenue streams and works closely with community partners to maximize fundraising opportunities.
Clayton synthesizes and presents financial data to the Board, highlighting achievements, challenges, and areas of opportunity.
